Is America still a Christian nation?
A remnant fights to keep Christ in schools, in the public arena, even in Christmas. But in the culture at large, Christ is as welcome as four-day-old fish.
The administration of a Kenyan school was shell-shocked to hear that America doesn't allow for prayer in schools or for teachers to even talk openly about their faith in Jesus. When Gregg told them 50% of American pastors polled admitted to looking at pornography within the previous two weeks, they couldn't believe it. It was as though he'd punched all of them in the stomach.
The principal said, "A hundred years ago, it was you that brought us the Gospel. And now you're telling me this?"
The secular American culture is not the sole culprit. The church in America has for over a century now been developing theology to excuse sin, and the message of repentance has all but vanished.
This is unacceptable.
For all of her incredible progress, America has devolved into an amoral quagmire where nearly everyone, even in the church, does what is right in his own eyes. Satisfying our basest lusts has become the order of the day as our prophets scream "Tolerance!" from the rooftops.
Our message for America is the same one Christ had for Israel 2,000 years ago:
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
