Letter from Annastacia Mwongeli

It was on Saturday morning. The day was clear and beautiful. I opened the navy blue curtains that abruptly threw spears of light to every corner of the room. The stream was bubbling and the dew on the grass had already evaporated. I made a clean pair of heels to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

This day was a very precious and blessed one because we were waiting for visitors. You might guess the visitors, but let me tell you. You were the visitors. When you reached the school compound we all assembled at the main hall. The hall was engulfed by pin-drop silence as we waited patiently to hear from our visitors. The first testimony you gave us about your life story when you were young really meant a lot to me. I remembered my sister who used to take things from the house without my mother's permission. When I went home for a mid-term break, I told my sister about your story and how you were saved. She changed her life immediately and she became one of the faithful girls in my mother's family. Your story changed my sister's life completely.

Meeting you has also given me a chance to know and love God more. It has also given me an opportunity and a hope of joining a university. This is because you are teaching us how to apply for scholarships which will enable us to go for further studies. These scholarships will help many families, especially me because my mother cannot afford money to take me to a college after I finish my high school education. We can also help others to get scholarships in our country. Meeting you has been a pleasure and treasure without measure, but losing you will be like torture.
